The listings are titled AR-RPM9, and the feature copy on the carbon fiber and black PVD versions describes it as the brand's proprietary AR-RPM9 steel, formulated to blend edge retention, corrosion resistance and ease of sharpening. The carbon fiber version also calls out that the high flat grind keeps the edge thin and slicey while the spine stays robust.
At the same time, the contoured G10 listing carries a spec block reading D2/AR-RPM9 at HRC 59-61, and the older feature text on those pages still describes D2 as a tried-and-true wear-resistant steel hardened to the same 59-61 HRC band. Both descriptions point at a D2-class powder steel at the same hardness, and neither is a claim about a different knife — but if the exact alloy matters to you, read the spec block on the specific listing you are buying rather than the summary at the top of the page.
